About the position
The ThermoForm / Small Parts Assembly Specialist at Jackson Kayak Inc. is responsible for assembling and building high-quality kayaks while ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. The specialist will also handle small parts assembly and maintain a clean and organized workstation.
Responsibilities
- Cuts and trims bulkhead foam walls in kayaks to correct specifications.
- Places and attaches kayak wall track in a kayak to correct specifications.
- Assists with kayak cut and trim when required.
- Works as a team with outdoor-oriented team members.
- Builds and assembles industry-leading kayaks using hand tools as needed.
- Maintains a tidy workstation daily and cleans up after work.
- Identifies quality issues and reports them to the line lead.
- Trims and deburrs small parts using hand tools and utility blades.
- Assembles complex parts while monitoring quality standards.
- Fine-tunes products and trims using various tools.
- Operates in a safe manner and maintains safety standards.
Requirements
- Experience with building or assembly of complex objects.
- Experience utilizing hand tools such as sharp blades, rasps, and power drills.
- Ability to lift 40-80 lbs. with assistance when required.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
