About the position

The Thin Film Coating - Production Operator 1 Cleaner position at Northrop Grumman involves inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining laser components within the SYNOPTICS division, which specializes in the fabrication and coating of crystalline materials for laser systems. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work with small parts, ensuring high-quality standards in the production process.

Responsibilities

• Inspect uncoated and coated parts for cosmetic defects
• Clean and fixture all standard products
• Strip coatings off all standard products with minimal etching reject
• Clean and maintain tooling after coating runs
• Participate in the Housekeeping and Tooling rotation
• Complete all associated process documentation
• Work with process improvement teams

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Able to work with small parts - visual acuity and manual dexterity skills are required for handling laser rods
• Able to inspect parts using a stereo inspection microscope
• Able to operate equipment without supervision
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
