About the position

The Head of Operations for a Third Party Logistics (3PL) company in West Houston is responsible for directing and overseeing all warehouse operations, optimizing processes, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods through multiple fulfillment facilities. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong entrepreneurial mindset who can effectively communicate with clients and manage day-to-day operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping. The position emphasizes continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and team development, with a focus on building systems and processes from scratch to support business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and accurate execution of tasks.
  • Provide visionary strategic planning to grow the company by anticipating future industry trends.
  • Demonstrate leadership in supply chain and fulfillment, leveraging various modes of transportation to meet customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement through systems that enhance processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
  • Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure success and drive decision-making.
  • Articulate complex strategies clearly and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and timely order fulfillment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, investors, partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead team building, management, and training to foster a culture of positivity and accountability.
  • Incorporate cutting-edge technologies to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
  • Manage budgets, profits & losses, investments, and strategic financial planning.

Requirements

  • 12-15 years of work experience in 3PL operations, fulfillment services, e-commerce order fulfillment, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Lean Six Sigma blackbelt and Lean experience (LSSBB Certification) required.
  • Proven track record of providing visionary strategic planning and operational excellence in logistics.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and strategic financial planning.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate with vendors and clients.
  • Experience in setting up new warehouses, operations, inventory planning, shipping, and logistics.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $120,000 - $175,000, with potential for higher compensation based on performance.
