About the position

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Enterprise Network Services (FENS) Third Party Vendor (TPV) Manager is responsible for managing relationships with various vendors, overseeing vendor performance, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role involves coordinating with functional teams, producing Statements of Work (SOWs), conducting monthly status reviews, and managing contract lifecycle activities. The TPV Manager will also negotiate contracts and manage risks associated with vendor schedules and deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Create and support an environment that meets Verizon's goals.
  • Manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g., vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants, suppliers).
  • Effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Implement processes to evaluate and select products, tools, services, and infrastructure components to ensure alignment with Verizon's needs and architectural principles.
  • Develop criteria, policies, and procedures for vendor evaluations.
  • Accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Leverage proper processes and practices for managing and administering contractual agreements.
  • Negotiate across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Requirements

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Experience in working with OEMs and developing BOMs.
  • Ability to manage and balance business and technical requirements.
  • Experience in communicating highly technical, multi-faceted solutions to customers in a simple, understandable manner.
  • Experience managing large-scale technical programs with end-to-end accountability.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Telecom Industry experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust government clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Data and IP Services (MPLS, SIP, internet, VPN, SDN, NFV, SDWAN).
  • Knowledge of Access Technologies (TDM, Ethernet).
  • Knowledge of Network Operations (Managed Services for WLAN, LAN, WAN, IP PBX, Automation/Orchestration).
  • Knowledge of Security (DDOS, FW, IDS, WAF, DDI, SIEM, Analytics, Micro-segmentation).
  • Knowledge of Wireless technologies (IoT).
  • Knowledge of Voice Services (Circuit Switched Voice, IP Voice, SIP Trunking).
  • Knowledge of Facility Services.
  • Knowledge of VRD Ordering and Installation Processes.
  • Familiarity with hardware vendors such as Cisco, Panduit, Frequentis, MicroChip etc.
  • Public Sector Domain Experience to include both Federal and Department of Defense contract and procurement experience.
