About the position

The Third Person in Charge at Albertsons Companies is responsible for overseeing the entire store's operations in the absence of the Store Director and Assistant Store Director. This role is crucial for maintaining store functionality, providing customer service, and facilitating employee training. It serves as a stepping stone for candidates aspiring to advance into retail leadership positions.

Responsibilities

• Manage total store operations during closing shifts in the absence of the Store Director and Assistant Store Director.
• Supervise all employees and handle customer complaints when the Store Director and Assistant Store Director are unavailable.
• Coordinate with late shift employees to ensure smooth operations and assess daily operational needs.
• Engage in suggestive selling and maintain a customer-friendly atmosphere.
• Perform ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, and merchandising duties.
• Assist in implementing merchandising policies and prepare task lists for stockers.
• Train Head Clerks and potential candidates for promotion to Third Person in Charge.
• Support the Store Director in maintaining safety culture and programs within the store.
• Coordinate hiring needs and ensure onboarding of new employees is completed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four or more years of retail experience required, preferably in grocery.
• Proficient customer service and supervisory skills.
• Strong understanding of overall store operations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Leadership skills and ability to work well with others.
• Ability to work flexible hours and independently as well as part of a team.
• Analytical skills for administrative tasks such as planning and scheduling.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in retail grocery preferred.
• Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
