About the position

The CNC Operator/Programmer at Pridgeon & Clay Inc. is responsible for creating and modifying CNC programs, operating machines, and ensuring the production of high-quality parts that meet customer expectations. This role emphasizes efficiency, quality assurance, and continuous improvement within a team-oriented environment. The position requires a blend of technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify CNC programs using MasterCam and SolidWorks software.
• Operate 2D/3D CNC work centers and troubleshoot machining issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines and assist in training other CNC operators.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications before removal from the mill.
• Monitor and improve CNC machine efficiency and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Safely use forklifts and cranes to load and transport dies, adhering to safety regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a CNC Operator/Programmer or CNC/Machinist Technician program or certificate, or a minimum of 10 years of skilled experience in CNC programming.
• Ability to train and mentor other CNC Operator/Programmer trainees.
• Experience in the prototype or tool & die trade, specifically in programming and setup.
• Proven mechanical inclination and general math knowledge.
• Computer literacy, including the ability to interpret blueprints and CAD data.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
