About the position

Leidos Dynetics is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer / Computer Engineer Intern to join a diverse team dedicated to creating unique solutions for complex problems. This position is based in Huntsville, Alabama, and is part of the Threat Intelligence and Exploitation Department. The intern will support solutions for the United States Intelligence Community and/or Test and Evaluation Community. The projects may involve threat model development, which could include radar, sensors, or weapons, as well as model integration into simulation environments and tool development for visualization, integration, or characterization. The intern will have the opportunity to apply engineering principles to create threat simulation model designs and convert these designs into software programs using C++ and other programming languages. Additionally, the intern will design and develop data analysis tools to aid in data processing, visualization, and analysis. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to work cohesively in a team environment, as collaboration is key to the success of the projects undertaken by the department. Candidates must be enrolled in an Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering program from an ABET accredited school and are expected to graduate within the next three years. A strong academic record, with a minimum overall GPA of 3.7, is required. The ideal candidate will also be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama area. Security clearance is a requirement, and candidates must be U.S. citizens with the ability to obtain and maintain a Final Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering program from an ABET accredited school.
  • Expected to graduate within the next 3 years (Summer 2027).
  • Current overall GPA of 3.7 or higher.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to create threat simulation model designs.
  • Proficiency in converting simulation designs into software programs using C++ and other computer languages.
  • Experience in designing and developing data analysis tools for data processing, visualization, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Knowledge of C++, Python, or Java.
  • Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming.
  • Experience with Visual Studio.
  • Knowledge of version control software (such as git or svn).
