About the position

Leidos Dynetics is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer / Computer Engineer intern to join a diverse team dedicated to creating unique solutions for complex problems. The company operates across the United States, engaging in various sectors including defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields. The Threat Intelligence and Exploitation Department is particularly focused on supporting the United States Intelligence Community and/or Test and Evaluation Community. Interns will have the opportunity to work on projects that may involve threat model development, which could include radar, sensors, or weapons systems. Additionally, interns will be involved in model integration into simulation environments and the development of tools for visualization, integration, or characterization of data. The ideal candidate will be enrolled in an Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering program from an ABET accredited institution and is expected to graduate within the next three years, specifically by Summer 2027. A strong academic record is essential, with a minimum overall GPA of 3.7. Interns will apply their academic knowledge to create threat simulation model designs, convert these designs into software programs using languages such as C++, and design and develop data analysis tools to assist in data processing, visualization, and analysis. Effective communication and teamwork skills are crucial for success in this role, as interns will be expected to collaborate closely with other team members. Candidates must be residents of the North Alabama area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area. Security requirements include being a US Citizen and possessing (or being eligible to obtain) a Final Secret Clearance. Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in converting simulation designs into software programs using C++ and other languages.
  • Experience in designing and developing data analysis tools for data processing and visualization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Familiarity with C++, Python, or Java.
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming.
  • Experience with Visual Studio.
  • Familiarity with version control software (such as git or svn).
