About the position

The Threat Systems Analyst at Canvas will provide critical support to the Threat Modeling Center (TMC) by developing and modeling threat signatures. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to assess threat needs, evaluate intelligence data, and ensure the accuracy of threat models. The analyst will also work on improving threat representation through innovative technical approaches and will interface with contractors and government entities to articulate threat data requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal MDA and external stakeholders to determine threat needs for Integrated Master Test Plan events.
• Coordinate with MDA/DEI and the Intel Production Centers to obtain intelligence assessments and reference data necessary to define and build threat models consisting of kinematic, RF, and IR models.
• Evaluate intelligence data and provide technical reviews of associated Threat Model Requirements Documents produced by the prime contractor, articulating change recommendations.
• Provide verification and validation recommendations of prime contractor produced kinematic, RF, and IR models, articulating change recommendations.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and the prime contractor in the development of event verification and validation documentation which compares all threat models to the latest intelligence assessments, articulating change recommendations.
• Recognize and understand shortfalls in threat data generation capability and how advances in technology can improve threat representation, particularly in areas of ablation and RF/electro-optical/infrared signatures.
• Work with the MDA Core Truth Models team to identify and evaluate software applications to support emerging threat signature requirements.
• Collaborate with other members of the MDA team to integrate efforts and meet M&S program objectives for MDA events and real-world activities.
• Support TMC M&S threat software/tool development in support of integrated threat production capability (kinematic and signature threat data generation).
• Represent the government and interface with contractors at technical interchanges, assisting other MDA organizations, the Intelligence Community, and warfighters to articulate threat data needs.
• Investigate and recommend innovative technical approaches and process improvements to enhance the quality of delivered threat products and reduce schedule risk.

Requirements

• Master's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree and 20+ years of relevant experience.
• Creative thinking, problem solving, analytical thinking.
• Ability to work with a diverse team of engineers with different perspectives and objectives.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to a non-technical audience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, TEAMS).
• Understanding of kinematics, radar cross section or infrared data and software that supports the production of threat stimulus data (desired).
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
