About the position

The Ticket Operations Coordinator Intern will support the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's Ticket Office operations for major events, including the INDYCAR Grand Prix and the Indianapolis 500. This role focuses on providing exceptional customer service, assisting with ticket sales, and ensuring smooth operations during events. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the overall guest experience at one of the world's largest sporting facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior, individualized guest service to all guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests via telephone, face-to-face, and email to establish their needs and provide accurate information regarding IMS events.
• Assist guests with the purchase and distribution of tickets, parking, and additional products.
• Handle cash, check, and credit card payments accurately and responsibly.
• Operate the IMS computer ticket system (SCORE) to process daily ticket orders and payments.
• Pull, package, and prepare all products for mailing orders for all events.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer and business information.
• Operate and maintain remote ticket locations during event times as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Superior customer service skills and a service-oriented philosophy.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in customer service or ticket sales is preferred.
