About the position

The Tie Down Clerk position at Union Pacific Railroad involves assisting in the loading and unloading of containers and trailers from railroad flatcars. Responsibilities

• Assist in loading and unloading containers and trailers from railroad flatcars.
• Secure and unfasten rail containers and trailers.
• Support ramp contractors and spot inbound trains.
• Transport crews within ramp areas.
• Operate cone buggy vehicles.
• Demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding regulations and instructions in English.
• Engage in physically demanding work and operate a variety of hand tools.
• Adhere to safety, operational, and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations.
• Cultivate positive working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, contractors, and customers.

Requirements

• Ability to help load and unload containers and trailers from railroad flatcars.
• Strong oral communication skills.
• Ability to pass a Physical Ability Test (PAT).
• Willingness to comply with safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Reliable mode of transportation for commuting.
