About the position

The Tier 1 Network Engineer position at Insight Global involves supporting a 24x7x365 team responsible for managing customer mission-critical environments. The role focuses on quickly resolving incidents, monitoring alerts, and providing support to both internal and external customers during critical service-related issues. This entry-level position requires proficiency in troubleshooting methodologies and wireless network support, particularly with Cisco products and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Support either day or night shifts aligned to a 24x7x365 team.
  • Quickly resolve incidents reported by clients and monitor alerts to preemptively address issues.
  • Utilize entry-level troubleshooting methodologies to solve problems in complex networks.
  • Provide support to internal and external customers during critical service-related issues.
  • Understand customer expectations and manage or set proper expectations.
  • Exercise critical thinking skills to solve problems quickly and effectively.

Requirements

  • Sole US Citizenship with Active TS Clearance or Higher
  • Must have IAT 2 level certification (Sec+, CCNA-Security, SySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP)
  • 1-2+ years route/switch experience
  • 1-2+ years WLAN experience or comparable knowledge
  • 1+ year Help/Service Desk and troubleshooting experience with network managing tools and ticketing platforms
  • CompTIA Net or CCNA Certification
  • Experience with a Network Management System such as Solarwinds, Zenoss, or Thousand Eyes
  • Experience with a SIEM product such as Kibana or Splunk
  • Wireless experience
  • Previous experience working in a Network Operations Center
