About the position

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for the configuration, integration, and upgrade of network architectural components within a government program Operations Center at Langley AFB, VA. This role involves ensuring optimal network performance, conducting trend analysis, and supporting the design and installation of network equipment. The position is a contract-to-permanent hire opportunity, requiring a TS/SCI clearance and extensive experience in network infrastructure management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform configuration, integration, and upgrade of network components.
  • Establish system performance parameters and conduct network trend analysis.
  • Sort and file network traffic based on IP addresses as needed.
  • Establish baseline network configuration and performance parameters.
  • Conduct network analysis to ensure network performance.
  • Support design, installation, and integration of new routers and equipment.
  • Maintain network interface/port configurations and IP routing tables.
  • Maintain version control of router operating system software.
  • Establish configuration and modification of device settings for security.
  • Manage and operate software applications for network management.
  • Respond to hardware and software problems related to DPA equipment.
  • Coordinate with Government leads to optimize network devices.
  • Install CAN/WAN equipment and maintain documentation.
  • Develop and enforce comply-to-connect standards for the DPA.
  • Review integration efforts to ensure engineering rigor and security practices.
  • Process and implement network service requests and security approved ports.
  • Perform transition planning and maintenance of network management.
  • Develop and execute OTN test plans and procedures.
  • Review requirements to determine bandwidth and performance settings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of Network Infrastructure Management experience.
  • Possess an IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+) and CCNP.
  • TS/SCI Clearance (can start with TS w/ SCI eligibility).
  • Experience with enterprise networking.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DCGS and ISR sensor data management.
  • Familiarity with Access Control Lists and network security practices.
