About the position

The global e-commerce data science team at TikTok is dedicated to maximizing the efficiency of e-commerce transactions through the application of quantitative techniques, including mathematical statistics and machine learning. This role is pivotal in building a first-class e-commerce platform that not only enhances user experience but also drives business growth. As a Data Scientist in the Search & Recommendation team, you will be at the forefront of exploring opportunities across various domains such as traffic, products, operations, and strategies. Your work will involve utilizing causal inference and machine learning technologies to derive insights that can significantly impact the e-commerce landscape. In this position, you will engage in qualitative and quantitative analysis, model construction, and experimental verification to conduct in-depth special project analyses. Your keen business insight will enable you to provide strategic suggestions that can guide the direction of our e-commerce initiatives. Effective communication with cross-functional teams will be essential as you promote the implementation of strategies and ensure continuous optimization of processes. Responsibilities

  • Use causal inference, Machine Learning and other technologies to actively explore opportunities in traffic, products, operations, strategies, etc.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis, model construction, and experimental verification to complete in-depth special project analysis and provide strategic suggestions.
  • Communicate efficiently with cross-functional teams to promote the implementation of strategy application and continuous optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or above in computer, statistics, data science or related majors; master's and doctoral degrees are preferred.
  • Solid foundation in Machine Learning and Statistics, proficient in SQL, Python / R.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce search or recommendation strategies; relevant experience is preferred.
  • Good communication skills, proactive in work, with a sense of ownership and strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work well in a team and under pressure; strong curiosity and self-driving force.
