As a member of the Procurement team, you will play a critical role in enhancing the competitive edge of our business units by implementing best-in-class procurement practices and solutions. This position is pivotal in building the capability and standards of the Procurement function, ensuring service delivery excellence, and supporting the development and sustainability of our operations. You will be expected to communicate effectively across various business units and build constructive partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders. Your primary responsibilities will include executing ongoing purchasing activities within your assigned scope, driving the creation and overseeing the implementation of communication plans, and developing an implementation strategy with clear responsibility assignments and timelines. You will need to present and communicate compelling business cases and commodity strategies to key leadership and management, demonstrating your functional expertise in digital RFP, RFQ, and RFI standards and processes. Analyzing markets closely to ensure competitive pricing and identifying supplier differentiations will be essential to your role. In supplier management, you will develop plans and conduct evaluations and negotiations to gain supplier commitment, ensuring successful processing of all procurement activities. This includes resolving issues and maintaining vendor accounts and purchase orders. You will also assess current business processes and make recommendations for standardization and optimization, leading process improvement initiatives to establish best practices. Building collaborative relationships with key stakeholders will be crucial to developing, implementing, and optimizing processes and programs that enable our operations to scale effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Execute ongoing purchasing activities within assigned scope.
  • Drive the creation and oversee the implementation of communication plans.
  • Develop implementation strategy, responsibility assignments, and timeline.
  • Present and communicate compelling business cases and commodity strategies to key leadership and management.
  • Demonstrate functional expertise in digital RFP, RFQ, and RFI standards and processes.
  • Analyze markets closely to ensure below or at market pricing and identify supplier differentiations.
  • Manage multiple suppliers against cost, quality standards, and delivery targets.
  • Develop plans and conduct supplier evaluation and negotiation to gain supplier commitment.
  • Develop the logistical model for purchasing to provide the overall lowest landed cost.
  • Ensure successful processing of all procurement activities, resolving issues and maintaining vendor accounts and purchase orders.
  • Assess current state business processes and make recommendations to standardize and optimize opportunities.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to arrive at best practices.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to develop, implement, and optimize processes and programs.

Requirements

  • Experience in the e-commerce industry negotiating with small parcel carriers, packaging materials suppliers, and warehouse fulfillment service providers.
  • Strong project management skills and statistical analysis skills.
  • Sophisticated graphic presentation skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and understanding of financial reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or other relevant fields; Master or MBA degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, with 3+ years of direct procurement experience in the logistics industry focused on strategic sourcing, commodities, supplier qualification, negotiations, contracting, contract management, and supply management.
