About the position

TikTok is seeking a Senior Product Manager for its E-commerce Governance and Experience team, which is dedicated to ensuring a safe and trustworthy marketplace for users, sellers, and creators. This global team is focused on user satisfaction and works on policies, rules, and systems to maintain high-quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving product strategies and solutions for TikTok Shopping in North America, focusing on listing governance and safety features. In this role, you will collaborate with various internal teams to develop and implement product features that enhance safety and quality in the TikTok shopping experience. You will be tasked with creating governance and ecosystem features, as well as technical strategies to improve the overall shopping experience. Additionally, you will work on methods to detect and address risky behaviors and actors within TikTok's E-commerce ecosystem, ensuring a secure environment for all participants. As a product manager, you will own the product vision and develop a roadmap for the listing governance vertical. You will establish metrics to measure the success of product features, analyze results, and partner with other teams to create action plans and recommendations for enhancements. Your responsibilities will also include designing and implementing product solutions that ensure listing safety and quality, as well as providing a smooth listing experience for sellers. You will proactively mitigate risks by designing listing checkpoints and approval enhancements, and you will provide insights on product performance and customer behavior to identify growth opportunities. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, the ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment, and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced setting. You will work closely with the modeling team to develop strategies and optimize products to increase automation and reduce errors. Your role will involve balancing trade-offs among seller, user, and creator experiences within the e-commerce ecosystem, making it essential to have a broad technical knowledge and understanding of machine learning and statistical modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Own product vision and develop product roadmap and strategies for listing governance vertical
  • Develop metrics to measure success of product features, analyze results, and partner across the organization to develop action plans and enhancement recommendations
  • Independently design and implement product solutions to ensure listing safety and quality and provide smooth listing experience to sellers as well as ensure quality and authenticity of listings on the platform
  • Design listing checkpoints and velocities to proactively mitigate risks, and develop listing approval enhancements
  • Provide insights on product performance and customer behavior, identifying and prioritizing growth opportunities and improvements, defining product requirements for new features and coordinating development efforts as the product owner
  • Work closely with modeling team to develop and implement strategies, define thresholds for precision, recall, overkill for model deployment; optimize products and features to increase automation, reduce error and manual review and moderation
  • Define and drive product strategy and roadmap in collaboration with cross-vertical and cross-functional teams
  • Manage prioritization and balance trade-offs among seller experience, user experience and creator experience within the e-commerce ecosystem

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in product management in Consumer-Facing mobile or web Internet companies
  • Broad technical knowledge and in-depth understanding of Machine Learning, statistical modeling, algorithms, OCR and ASR, etc
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and driving innovation on behalf of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to evaluate assumptions, make recommendations and decisions, and drive execution
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment while balancing multiple responsibilities, scoping projects, evaluating priorities, and effectively working well within a team

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of and passion for ecommerce and retail
  • Knowledge of user generated content platforms and LIVE streaming is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to develop and nurture relationships with stakeholders and vendors
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and audience
  • Flexible and experienced in project management, can lead and operate multiple project streams confidently
