About the position

TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video, with a mission to inspire creativity and bring joy. The company is seeking a Senior Product Manager for the Content Creation Tools on the Seller team, which focuses on enhancing the experience for merchants on the TikTok Shop platform. This role is pivotal in understanding what motivates sellers to create engaging content, such as short videos and live shows, to promote their products effectively. The Senior Product Manager will lead the development of creative tools that empower sellers to express themselves and connect with their audience. In this position, you will be responsible for crafting a compelling product strategy and roadmap by deeply understanding the needs of TikTok e-commerce sellers. You will identify new opportunities to drive seller engagement and creativity, not only by improving existing tools but also by introducing innovative solutions. Collaboration is key, as you will partner with designers, engineers, and data scientists to build technology and systems that redefine community expression through creative tools. Your role will involve analyzing data trends, planning both short- and long-term roadmaps, and executing the product development process. This includes gathering and defining requirements, writing specifications, creating wireframes and workflows, conducting user studies, running A/B tests, and coordinating marketing and launch plans. Building alignment across the company on your vision, including with leadership and executives, will be essential to your success.

Responsibilities

  • Be a product leader for TikTok Shop Creative Tools products by understanding the needs of TikTok e-commerce sellers and developing a compelling product strategy and roadmap.
  • Identify new opportunities that can drive sellers to create videos or conduct live shows, including improvements and new introductions.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and data scientists to build technology, systems, and products that enhance community expression through Creative Tools.
  • Analyze data trends and plan short- and long-term product roadmaps.
  • Execute the product development process by gathering and defining requirements, writing specifications, creating wireframes and workflows, running user studies, conducting A/B tests, and coordinating marketing and launch plans.
  • Build alignment across the company on your vision, including with leadership and executives.
  • Collaborate and build trust with cross-functional teams including engineers, designers, and data scientists.
  • Think creatively and approach key problems with system-level thinking.
  • Independently initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance and speed of execution.
  • Communicate concisely and influence outcomes effectively.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 5+ years of product management experience in e-commerce, video making, or content creation companies.
  • Direct experience working on creative tools, particularly in AR tools or video editing tools for creators is preferred.
  • Experience with software development, product design, or interaction design.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience with A/B testing.
