About the position

TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video, with a mission to inspire creativity and bring joy. The Design Foundation Team is focused on constructing a robust and scalable platform framework and design system assets to enhance the overall user experience, particularly for B2B platforms. As a Senior UX Designer specializing in Design Systems, you will play a crucial role in improving the user experience of B2B products and developing a comprehensive design system that aligns with TikTok's mission. In this role, you will assess the user experience of B2B products, identifying areas for improvement through user feedback analysis, user research, and monitoring industry trends. You will create a comprehensive design system that includes visual styles, UI components, and interaction patterns. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with designers, developers, and product managers to define and document design standards, guidelines, and best practices. Your ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams will ensure that the design system meets the needs of both the product and its users. You will also establish and maintain a centralized design system library or repository, facilitating easy access, sharing, and version control of design components and patterns. Regular audits and reviews of existing design assets will be part of your responsibilities to ensure adherence to established design standards. Additionally, you will work closely with design teams to integrate the design system into their workflows, promoting consistency and efficiency in product development. This position is not just about design; it’s about creating a culture of collaboration and innovation that drives impact for TikTok and the communities it serves.

Responsibilities

  • Assess B2B product user experience and identify areas for improvement, including analyzing user feedback, conducting user research, and monitoring industry trends.
  • Create a comprehensive design system that encompasses visual style, UI components, and interaction patterns.
  • Work closely with designers, developers, and product managers to define and document design standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to align design decisions and ensure that the design system meets the needs of the product and its users.
  • Establish and maintain a centralized design system library or repository to store and organize design assets, facilitating easy access, sharing, and version control.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of existing design assets to ensure they adhere to established design standards and guidelines.
  • Work closely with design teams to ensure seamless integration of the design system into their workflows, encouraging the adoption of design components and patterns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a design-related field.
  • 5+ years of business-facing product design experience.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing design systems for B2B products.
  • Demonstrate strong product thinking skills by identifying opportunities for improvement based on data and user feedback.
  • Showcase problem-solving abilities in addressing design challenges and enhancing the overall user experience.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the design process and exhibit strong craft skills in creating visually appealing and functional design solutions.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite to create, document, and share design system components effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
