About the position

TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video, and our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. As a Senior Data Analyst for TikTok Shop's US Operations, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing key business metrics that drive our e-commerce platform. This position requires a proactive and self-driven individual who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and availability. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining reporting frameworks that facilitate business reviews and provide actionable insights to optimize performance. In this role, you will continuously monitor metrics such as Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), conversion rates, customer acquisition, and retention metrics. You will identify trends and anomalies, and work closely with data engineers and other analysts to coordinate resources during metric change events. Your ability to communicate insights and recommendations effectively to stakeholders, including senior management, will be essential for driving strategic decision-making. You will also be tasked with building and maintaining interactive dashboards and data visualizations that enable stakeholders to access relevant information efficiently. Conducting in-depth data analysis to uncover actionable insights and responding to ad-hoc data requests will be part of your daily responsibilities. Ensuring data accuracy and consistency through validation checks and collaboration with data engineering teams will be critical to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor and analyze key business metrics such as GMV, conversion rates, customer acquisition, and retention metrics.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement in business metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate resources and investigations during metric change events.
  • Work closely with data engineers and other analysts to ensure data accuracy and availability.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve reporting frameworks for weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Effectively communicate changes in metrics, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management, operations, and business teams.
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards and data visualizations that enable stakeholders to self-serve and access relevant information efficiently.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover actionable insights and provide recommendations for optimizing business performance.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency by implementing data validation checks and working closely with data engineering teams to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests and perform special analyses as required by the business to support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in an ecommerce or marketplace environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science).
  • Strong proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R).
  • Excellent SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Great communication and presentation skills.
