About the position

The TikTok Social Media Manager will lead the launch and management of the organization's TikTok platform, focusing on global human rights issues, diplomatic affairs, and advocacy. This role requires a strong understanding of current events impacting the Jewish community and involves collaboration with various teams to create engaging content aimed at a young audience. The position is fully remote and offers a unique opportunity to work within a nonprofit environment dedicated to advocacy and social justice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the launch of the organization's TikTok platform.
  • Have a strong understanding of current events that impact the Jewish Community, including politics, human rights, and religious issues.
  • Collaborate with the social media team, senior leadership, and the Leadership Department to develop a TikTok strategy.
  • Create and curate engaging TikTok content, including videos, captions, and hashtags.
  • Monitor trending news and social media topics, coordinating the organization's response with leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Leadership Department to generate content ideas for a young audience.
  • Support college students and young leaders in their TikTok content creation.
  • Optimize TikTok content for other platforms.
  • Maintain a TikTok content calendar for consistent posting.
  • Coordinate with issue experts and the content creation team on messaging and content repurposing.
  • Stay updated on TikTok algorithm changes and best practices to enhance organic reach.
  • Build relationships with TikTok creators and influencers to explore partnership opportunities.
  • Manage user interactions on TikTok.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in TikTok social media video production and creation within a nonprofit for global human rights, advocacy, or diplomacy required.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications or a similar field required.
  • Flexible work approach, with availability to work evenings and weekends to address breaking developments and news that impacts the organization.
  • Experience working remotely effectively.
  • Comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
