About the position
The position at Warner Bros. Discovery involves reviewing, editing, reformatting, and finalizing timed text materials for various groups within the company, including linear networks and digital partners. The role requires ensuring compliance with regulatory and client specifications while contributing to innovation and process improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and finish English timed text files to meet client and regulatory requirements.
- Edit timed text materials to ensure accuracy with program audio and time codes.
- Utilize internal databases to research names, terms, and phrases for accuracy in timed text.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards and regulations in work output.
- Manually transcribe text from audio when necessary.
- Perform final reviews of timed text materials for grammatical and formatting errors.
- Contribute to new initiatives and workflows that support business models.
- Engage with new technologies to improve timed text efforts.
- Participate in team meetings and assist in compiling metrics for reporting.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in timed text, transcription, captioning, or related field.
- Experience with timed text software such as captioning and subtitling.
- Project management experience in production or media accessibility.
- Excellent command of English, including grammar and idiomatic expressions.
- Superb listening skills to ensure timed text matches audio accurately.
- Strong text editing and proofreading skills to ensure error-free output.
- Proficiency in project management and productivity programs like Excel and Slack.
- Ability to collaborate with peers and adapt to fast-paced environments.
- Advanced typing speed of 75wpm or more preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with various standards and regulations related to timed text accessibility.
- College degree preferred in language studies, film, TV, or communications.
