About the position

The TIRE ITIN Kindergarten Teacher position at Pratt Elementary is responsible for providing appropriate instruction to elementary students, ensuring they meet the learning objectives and standards for their grade level. The role involves planning and implementing a standards-based curriculum, collaborating with special education staff, and maintaining classroom control while fostering individual student achievement.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement Kanawha County Schools' standards-based curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Incorporate 21st Century technology skills into the curriculum.
• Plan and implement a collaborative model with special education students and teachers.
• Plan and implement designated co-curricular activities and/or programs such as curricular fairs, awards programs, and field trips.
• Be accountable for individual student achievement.
• Plan and implement personalized learning for all students.
• Maintain strong communication skills with students, parents, and peers.
• Implement programs designated by the principal for school improvement.
• Maintain classroom control and perform supervisory duties as assigned by the Principal.

Requirements

• Valid teaching certificate for the appropriate specializations and grade levels as per WV Code §18A-3-2.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check as per WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10.
• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
