About the position

The Tissue Processing Technician at Integra LifeSciences plays a crucial role in the preparation and processing of allograft tissue used for surgical implantation. This position is essential in ensuring that tissue products are processed accurately and efficiently, adhering to the required specifications and production schedules. The technician will be responsible for performing tissue processing activities in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which includes the proper handling, storage, and disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste. The role requires a commitment to maintaining a sterile environment and utilizing aseptic techniques throughout the processing stages. In this position, the technician will work the 3rd shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a schedule of 7 shifts every 2 weeks. The responsibilities include using machinery and instrumentation to evaluate, cut, shape, and package implantable grafts, ensuring that all tasks are completed with precision and in compliance with established protocols. The technician will also be responsible for accurately completing paperwork and performing data entry as required, as well as conducting scheduled cleaning of clean rooms according to SOPs. Additionally, the technician will support laboratory functions, including the setup and breakdown of clean rooms and the proper cleaning of instruments. This role is vital to the success of surgical procedures, as it directly impacts the quality and safety of the grafts used in surgeries. The technician must be detail-oriented, capable of working with minimal supervision, and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and assist in training others.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process allograft tissue that is used for surgical implantation
  • Use aseptic technique, machinery, instrumentation, and equipment to evaluate, cut, shape and package implantable grafts that meets specification
  • Accurately complete paperwork and perform data entry where required
  • Perform scheduled cleaning of clean rooms per SOP
  • Perform lab support functions such as, set-up and breakdown of clean rooms, in some cases, properly clean instruments per SOP and handling of donor tissues
  • Prepare grafts to be sent for sterilization and received them back in with required paperwork
  • Perform any other related duties as required

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Surgical Technologist / Sterile Processing Certification or Bachelor degree of Science
  • Knowledge of sterile technique/aseptic processing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills for email and data entry
  • Must read, write, and speak in English, and communicate clearly and concisely
  • Able to participate in a team-oriented environment, willingness to assist and train others
  • Ability to gown to ISO Class 5 and 7 Clean Room standards
