About the position

This position is located in the Air National Guard (ANG) Wing, Comptroller Flight. The purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate, and perform comprehensive Accounting and Financial Management analysis, decision support, and quality reviews of base level accounting and financial management programs. The incumbent will independently perform and examine financial management functions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and safeguard funds against waste, loss, and misappropriation. They will aggregate data from multiple financial and accounting systems to provide accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management. The role also involves analyzing and processing financial services transactions, executing pay and entitlement operations, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Independently performs and examines financial management functions to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Aggregates data from multiple financial and accounting systems for accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyzes and processes financial services transactions while applying quality assurance techniques.
  • Executes full spectrum pay and entitlement operations and provides expert interpretation on regulatory guidelines.
  • Analyzes and measures the effectiveness and efficiency of financial operations and ensures internal controls are in place.
  • Determines legality of entitlements and provides decision support to the Financial Manager.

Requirements

  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory security clearance.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
