About the position

As a Title and Registration Specialist at Rivian, you will play a crucial role in executing registration and title applications on behalf of our customers, ensuring a seamless and efficient customer experience. Your primary responsibility will be to review consumer title and registration applications, verifying the accuracy of all documents submitted. You will also support both field and headquarters team members by obtaining necessary information and documents from customers, which is essential for timely submission of registration and title applications to processors. In this role, you will work closely with local DMV authorities to resolve any outstanding issues that may prevent registration, such as missing documents, signatures, or outstanding balances. Staying up to date with local regulation changes is vital, as you will need to communicate any necessary process changes to your team. You will also be comfortable handling customer escalations when needed to resolve registration issues, ensuring that all transactions are accurate and completed efficiently, including financing, trade-ins, and down payments. To be successful in this position, you will need to bring a wealth of knowledge regarding vehicle registrations across all 50 states. Your ability to work collaboratively as a team player will be essential, as you will be supporting customer-facing employees both at headquarters and in the field. This role requires adaptability to a fast-paced and constantly changing environment, as well as strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members alike.

Responsibilities

  • Review consumer title and registration applications, verify accuracy of all documents
  • Support field and headquarters team members in obtaining needed information and documents from customers
  • Submit registration and title applications to processors in a timely manner
  • Work with local DMV authorities to solve any outstanding issues preventing registration such as missing documents, signatures, or outstanding balances
  • Stay up to date with local regulation changes and communicate any necessary process changes
  • Handle customer escalations when needed to resolve registration issues
  • Verify transaction accuracy and completion (financing, trade in, down payments)

Requirements

  • 2+ years' of administrative operations experience; DMV experience preferred
  • At least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience with DealerTrack and RegUSA preferred
  • Knowledge of vehicle registrations, renewals, or EV tax incentives or experience with DMV procedures and rules highly advantageous
  • Must be able to pass criminal & fingerprinting applicable to state regulations & restrictions
  • Proficiency with computers and software including Microsoft Office, and ability to effectively navigate internal business platforms
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support customers on nights, weekends and/or holidays
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 30%) based on business needs to support other market launches and operations
  • No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years; No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years; No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License within a 3-5 year period

  • Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly, entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internal partners
  • Strong understanding of written and spoken English
  • Ability to see, read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions or schematics
