About the position

The Title Clerk for the Tax Assessor-Collector's office is responsible for processing vehicle and trailer registrations and title transfer applications. This role involves assisting customers, verifying insurance, and answering public inquiries related to titles and registration. The Title Clerk will also perform various clerical duties, manage cash transactions, and maintain office supplies, ensuring efficient office operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process vehicle and trailer registrations and title transfer applications.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and provide information regarding titles and registration.
  • Verify insurance documents as part of the registration process.
  • Perform clerical duties including filing documents and completing reports.
  • Balance cash drawer and handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Answer phones and respond to public inquiries professionally.
  • Order essential office supplies as needed.
  • Complete daily and weekly reports on office activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in office software are necessary.
  • Experience in accurate money handling is a must.
  • Reception skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are required.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with the public is essential.
