About the position

Travel + Leisure Co. is seeking to fill the position of Legal Counsel. This position requires a team player with strong attention to detail and timetables, an analytical thinker, and the desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This role will also have a focus on commercial real estate and contracts negotiation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel, and business advice, review, draft and negotiate general commercial agreements including affiliation, marketing and services agreements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in contract review and negotiations, real estate transactions, intellectual property, marketing and marketing review, and corporate governance matters.
  • Work in partnership with the company's operational areas, including sales, marketing, business development, finance, tax, technology and human resources.
  • Interact positively and professionally with all levels of management, customers, and outside agencies.
  • Be a true business partner with the business team, not just a legal adviser, by working together with the business team to successfully achieve the business goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Excellent academic credentials from an ABA accredited law school, and admission to the Bar in one or more states.
  • 4 to 6 years relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting commercial real estate deals is heavily preferred.
  • Experience in general corporate matters. Marketing and intellectual property experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, research, organization, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Detail oriented.
  • Ability to promptly and effectively respond to questions and concerns from senior management, personnel, clients, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to define problems, collect relevant information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and exercise sound discretion and judgment in making decisions and performing duties.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment yet have the ability to work independently and autonomously with limited supervision.
  • The candidate must also be a self-starter and be able to multi-task and handle large volumes of work.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, both internally and externally, as well as with executive staff.
