About the position

The Title I Instructional Aide position at Austintown Intermediate School is a non-bargaining role funded through Title I grants. This position is designed to support the educational needs of students, particularly those who require additional assistance to meet academic standards. The role is crucial in fostering an inclusive learning environment and ensuring that all students have access to the resources they need to succeed. The instructional aide will work closely with teachers and other educational staff to implement instructional strategies and support student learning in various settings, including classrooms and small group sessions. The instructional aide will be expected to assist in the preparation of instructional materials, monitor student progress, and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance. Duties will be assigned as needed by the Building Principal, which may include supporting students with special needs, helping with classroom management, and facilitating small group instruction. The aide will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, adhering to all board policies, state and federal laws, and the Ohio Code of Ethics as established by the Ohio Department of Education. To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess a valid Educational Aide Permit with ESEA Qualified Endorsement, pass current State and Federal background checks, and complete a negative drug screen. Additionally, successful candidates will be required to complete Safe Schools courses as assigned by the administration. This position is full-time, with hours not exceeding 28.75 hours per week and limited to 165 days per year, offering a salary of $16.50 per hour.
