About the position

The Title III Project Coordinator is a grant-funded position at Maryville College, responsible for the overall management of the Title III Project, Building an IDEAL (Inclusive, Diverse, Equitable, Accessible Learning) Community Project. This role is crucial in enhancing first-year student success and improving instructional technology and data utilization. The Coordinator will work collaboratively across various divisions of the College, focusing on enhancing the student experience and success. The position requires adherence to the rules and procedures set forth by the U.S. Department of Education and Maryville College, as outlined in the approved Title III project proposal and any subsequent revisions approved by the U.S. Department of Education Program Officer. Expected outcomes of this project include improved academic performance, a heightened sense of belonging, and increased retention rates for low-income and Black students. The Title III Project Coordinator will engage in project management activities, including planning, implementation, maintenance of records, communication and reporting, personnel supervision, budget management, and ongoing evaluation for compliance. This position is expected to work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the project goals and objectives. The Coordinator will also be responsible for monitoring grant deliverables, ensuring compliance with fiscal restraints, and maintaining accurate grant records. The role may require additional work hours beyond the standard schedule, including evenings and weekends, to fulfill the obligations of the position effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, public administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with state or federally funded educational opportunity programs or similar programs for underrepresented and low-income college students.
  • Minimum of three years of experience managing grants, including applying for grants, monitoring compliance, and maintaining grant records.
  • Experience implementing innovative, culturally responsive, and inclusive instructional models that support low-income, underrepresented students.
  • Experience in staff supervision, program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Formal training or experience in best practices that improve persistence, academic standing, and graduation rates of underrepresented and first-generation college students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to DEI best practices in higher education.
