About The Position

The Title IX Coordinator at Southwestern University is responsible for overseeing and managing compliance with Title IX and related federal and state regulations. This role aims to foster a safe and respectful environment for all members of the university community by coordinating responses to reports of sex discrimination and sexual misconduct, leading educational efforts, and ensuring proper investigation and resolution of complaints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, human resource management, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in managing Title IX complaint resolution and investigations.
  • Knowledge of current state and federal laws regarding discrimination and harassment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Investigatory experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various campus representatives.
  • Willingness to adhere to the University's core values.
  • Understanding and acceptance of cultural differences.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or J.D.
  • Prior experience as a Title IX Coordinator in higher education.
  • Prior experience as an EEO investigator in higher education.
  • Experience in effective investigation techniques and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the University's compliance with Title IX and related laws.
  • Coordinate daily responsibilities associated with responding to reports of sex discrimination and sexual misconduct.
  • Serve as a member of the Bias Incident Response Team.
  • Coordinate administrative investigations, hearings, and appellate processes.
  • Oversee campus communication regarding Title IX procedures and support measures.
  • Lead education, training, prevention, and outreach efforts for Title IX compliance.
  • Develop and propose revisions to policies and procedures for Title IX compliance.
  • Manage and record data related to complaints, investigations, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Deputy Title IX Coordinators and other campus staff.
  • Develop annual and quarterly data reports for university leadership.
  • Serve as Chair/Manager of the Sexual Misconduct Hearing Board committee.
  • Stay informed about current laws and trends related to sexual misconduct and discrimination.
  • Maintain documentation of training and educational programs for compliance with Title IX.
