About the position

As a Title Specialist at Asbury Automotive, you will play a crucial role in the legal transfer of vehicle documents between the dealership and the Department of Motor Vehicles. This position focuses on ensuring compliance with state regulations, processing title applications, and providing exceptional service to customers. The role is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented, team-focused, and passionate about enhancing the car-buying experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle the legal transfer of documents on behalf of customers between the dealership and the Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Examine contracts to ensure conformity to specified requirements.
• Process all new vehicles for registration in the state where they will be titled.
• Prepare tax and title documents for submission.
• Submit all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Verify that funds have been collected before processing title applications.
• Process paperwork in a timely manner and maintain a complete list of all outstanding title work.
• Stay updated on county and state title regulation requirements and apply appropriate urgency to tasks.
• Perform other duties as determined by management.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working in a busy office environment.
• Previous automotive Title Clerk experience preferred.
• Automotive accounting or CDK experience is a plus.
• Active Notary Public certification is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail is required.
• Effective communication skills are necessary.
• Team-oriented and comfortable in an open office setting.
