About the position

As a Retail Customer Experience Coordinator at TJ Maxx, you will play a pivotal role in promoting an excellent customer experience while overseeing a team of Associates at the front of the store. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure prompt and courteous customer service, as well as to actively promote loyalty programs. You will lead by example, engaging and interacting with customers to create a positive shopping environment. Maintaining a clean and organized store will also be a key aspect of your role, as you model outstanding customer service for your team and customers alike. In this position, you will be responsible for creating a positive internal and external customer experience. You will promote a culture of honesty and integrity, ensuring that confidentiality is maintained at all times. An active role in training and mentoring Associates on front-end principles will be essential, as you will coach them on personalizing the customer experience while promoting loyalty programs. You will assign registers, support and respond to POS coverage needs, and coordinate breaks for all Associates to ensure smooth operations. Addressing customer concerns and issues promptly will be crucial to ensuring a positive customer experience. You will ensure that Associates execute tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed. Effective communication with management and Associates will be necessary when setting and addressing priorities, and you will provide progress updates as required. Recognition and constructive feedback will be part of your responsibilities, as you partner with management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness. Additionally, you will ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, while promoting credit and loyalty programs. Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs will also be part of your duties, along with promoting safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and engaging role within the TJ Maxx team.

Requirements

  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong understanding of merchandising techniques.
  • Capable of multi-tasking.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Able to train others.
  • 1 year retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.
