About the position

The Case Manager II-III-IV position at the Texas Juvenile Justice Department involves performing routine case management work to support youth and their families. The role focuses on developing and maintaining long-term relationships with assigned youth, conducting assessments, planning services, and ensuring effective service delivery throughout the youth's commitment. The position requires working under moderate supervision and may involve working beyond standard hours and being on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial case assessments and file reviews.
  • Complete case planning for assigned caseload.
  • Monitor case load to complete transition planning.
  • Conduct and facilitate required group sessions for assigned caseload.
  • Participate in staff development and training programs.
  • Provide individual counseling to assigned youth and family contacts.
  • Document services and maintain casework sub-files.
  • Comply with agency policies and prepare necessary records and reports.
  • Monitor outcomes for racial, ethnic, and gender disparities.

Requirements

  • Unrelated Bachelor's degree with no experience required, or
  • High School diploma with 15 semester hours of college coursework and 1 year of relevant experience, or
  • High School diploma with less than 15 semester hours of college coursework and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • For Case Manager III: Bachelor's degree in a related field or unrelated degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or High School diploma with 15 semester hours of college coursework and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • For Case Manager IV: Master's degree in a related field or Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
