As a fuel tanker driver at BP Energy, you will play a crucial role in the transportation of fuel from refineries or distribution centers to various locations, including gas stations, airports, and industrial facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and timely delivery of fuel while adhering to all relevant regulations and safety protocols. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, as you will be operating a fuel tanker truck in various conditions and environments. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the tanker, which includes driving the vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. You will need to maintain control of the vehicle, adjust your driving techniques based on road and weather conditions, and maneuver the tanker safely in tight spaces. Additionally, you will be tasked with loading and unloading fuel from the tanker, which involves using appropriate equipment, connecting hoses, verifying quantities, and ensuring that compartments are sealed to prevent leaks or spills. Route planning and navigation are also key components of this position. You will need to plan the most efficient and safe routes for fuel delivery, taking into account factors such as distance, traffic conditions, and delivery schedules. Utilizing GPS systems or other navigation tools will be essential to ensure accurate and timely deliveries. Routine maintenance and inspections of the tanker truck will be part of your responsibilities. This includes checking tires, brakes, lights, and other crucial components to ensure they are in working condition. You will also perform basic maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels and reporting any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel. Compliance with regulations is paramount in this role.
