About the position

The Malvern School is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher for the Toddler classroom in Malvern, PA. This full-time position requires a commitment from Monday to Friday, where the selected candidate will play a crucial role in implementing a superior Early Childhood Education program that aligns with the school's policies and philosophy. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the lead teacher to create a safe, healthy, and educational environment for toddlers, ensuring that each child's developmental needs are met. This role involves regular communication with parents, utilizing both in-person interactions and technology to keep them informed and engaged in their child's progress. In addition to classroom responsibilities, the Assistant Teacher will have the opportunity to design creative curriculum activities that foster learning and exploration among toddlers. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of the Early Childhood Education program in accordance with school policies and philosophy.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and educational environment for the toddler classroom.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, both in person and through technology, to meet or exceed their expectations.
  • Design and implement creative curriculum activities that promote learning and development.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and at least 18 years of age.
  • At least 2500 hours (1 year, 4 months) of documented experience with young children in a licensed facility OR 15 relevant college credits (or CDA) and at least 1250 hours (8 months) of documented experience with young children in a licensed facility.
  • Must be (or be willing to start) pursuing a CDA (Child Development Associate) or a degree in the field.
