About the position

The Toddler Teacher at First Start Children's Center is responsible for creating a nurturing and safe environment that fosters the holistic development of young children. This role involves active participation in children's activities, promoting social and emotional skills, and ensuring compliance with state regulations and center policies.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state regulations and center policies.
• Complete the NH Health and Safety training program through Prosolutions and CPR and First Aid training within the first 90 days of employment.
• Complete 18 hours of professional development annually.
• Actively supervise and encourage the children to participate in planned activities.
• Develop a positive rapport with children, co-teachers, and families.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the child care space and materials.
• Role model manners, hygiene, respect, empathy, problem solving, sharing, and encourage independence.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Meet the education and experience requirement to be qualified as an Associate or Lead Teacher according to the New Hampshire Child Care Licensing Unit.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in an early childhood environment.
• A minimum of 9 credits in related coursework including at least one 3 credit course in child or human development.
