About the position
Xerox Holdings Corporation is seeking a Toner Packing Operator for its manufacturing facility located in Webster, NY. This entry-level position is part of the Xerox Manufacturing Industrial Workforce, which has a rich history of over 100 years in redefining workplace experiences through innovative technologies. The role involves working in a highly automated environment, where the operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting automated filling and packaging equipment used specifically for toner packaging. This includes various machinery such as filling systems, plugging robots, case packers, and labelers. The operator will also be tasked with loading empty bottles onto the automated filling lines while ensuring quality control by visually inspecting for proper part numbers and overall quality of the products being processed. In this role, the operator must keep pace with the running toner filling and packaging equipment to meet production goals. Monitoring product quality is crucial, and the operator will follow manufacturing procedures that include product sampling, visual inspections, and weighing of bottles and cartridges during the filling cycle. The position requires interfacing with computer systems to perform basic troubleshooting, which may involve interpreting alarm and fault messages. Additionally, the operator will perform changeovers of production equipment between different products, maintain accurate production records, and communicate effectively with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve any issues that may arise, thereby minimizing downtime. The Toner Packing Operator will also be responsible for handling, monitoring, and labeling inventory, as well as maintaining a clean and organized workstation. This position offers opportunities for future growth within the company, contingent upon the successful completion of qualifying exams. The work schedule includes B shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM and C shift from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with hourly pay rates of $19.25 and $19.50 respectively.
Responsibilities
- Setup, operate and perform adjustments on automated filling and packaging equipment used for toner packaging.
- Load empty bottles onto automated filling lines while visually inspecting for quality and proper part numbers.
- Keep pace with running toner filling/packaging equipment to ensure production goals are met.
- Monitor product quality per manufacturing procedures including product sampling, visual inspection, weighing of bottles and cartridges during filling cycle, interfacing with quality assurance lab.
- Interface with computer systems and perform basic troubleshooting using information provided by those systems.
- Perform changeovers of production equipment between different products, with the exception of Maintenance specific tasks.
- Record relevant production data in log sheets or through computer-based systems.
- Communicate with Engineering and Maintenance groups to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
- Handling, monitoring and labeling inventory.
- Workstation housekeeping and organization.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Manufacturing Experience preferred but not required.
- Must be able to work B or C shifts (Fixed shift will be assigned based on production needs and candidate availability).
