About the position

The Tool & Parts Attendant at M1 Support Services is responsible for managing material control functions, ensuring proper identification and distribution of materials, and maintaining compliance with environmental procedures. This role supports maintenance operations by ordering necessary parts and supplies, coordinating with base supply, and performing inspections of incoming materials. The position requires physical capability to perform various tasks in different environments, including office and hangar settings.

Responsibilities

  • Performs functions of material control and ensures items are correctly identified.
  • Distributes materials as required and notifies Supervisor of misidentified or lost items.
  • Ensures items are packed and routed correctly.
  • Orders parts and supplies required to support maintenance operations, tool program, and administrative programs.
  • Maintains technical orders as required.
  • Monitors vehicle control, hazardous materials, and facilities custodian programs.
  • May be responsible for supply and equipment accounts.
  • Responsible for compliance with environmental procedures associated with supplies under control.
  • Coordinates and expedites the flow of DIFM assets back into Supply for serviceability.
  • Arranges for transfer of parts to meet MICAP requirements.
  • Conducts follow-up actions on parts or equipment requisitions.
  • Coordinates with base supply to resolve parts or supplies issues.
  • Responsible for the inspection of incoming supply materials and performs research using supply publications.
  • Identifies and processes equipment and supply for turn-in to the Defense Re-utilization and Marketing Office (DRMO).
  • Responsible for ordering time change items.
  • Maintains TMDE accounts and performs pickup and delivery of assets.
  • Responsible for preparation of maintenance and company purchase requests and submission of excess government property reports.
  • May order personal protective equipment and office supplies.
  • Responsible for CTK Management and notifies supervision of all late returned and lost tools.
  • Performs inventory required under the CTK program and inspects all tools and equipment assigned for serviceability.
  • Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between work centers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Mathematics skills are desirable.
  • Must speak, read, write, and understand English with the ability to interpret technical data and special operating instructions.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (or higher, if required).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government driver's license.
