About the position

The SOC Tools Developer at Encantado Technical Solutions is responsible for supporting the monitoring tools used by the Systems Operation Center (SOC) at a major National Laboratory. This role involves ensuring 24x7x365 monitoring of IT resources to quickly detect and respond to issues, minimizing downtime and impact on operations and projects. The developer will administer systems that provide monitoring or context to monitoring data, including installations, administration, patching, and integration of data/systems.

Responsibilities

• Interact frequently with application end users, mission customers, and key stakeholders.
• Define requirements for software solutions.
• Develop code bases in Python, JavaScript, Java, and/or .NET development.
• Develop code in various frameworks such as Selenium.
• Develop code with relational and non-relational databases, such as SQL, OracleDB, MSSQL, and MongoDB.
• Automate code and CI/CD in Docker and Kubernetes or similar tools with DevSecOps.
• Resolve incidents that impact security operations through a ticketing system, such as ServiceNow.
• Implement event management system configurations for enterprise monitoring, such as in Entuity.
• Document requirements and plans to meet company and team objectives.
• Deploy and manage software systems across network hosts.
• Generate reports for data visualization.
• Maintain systems that require 24/7 activity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or 8 years of job-related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level clearance.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, Java, and JavaScript.
• Experience in software solution integration and large system development with established code bases.
• Software development experience for Windows and Linux platforms.
• UI design and configuration management skills.
• High-volume data management and data visualization expertise.
• System administration experience.
