About the position
The Tool Maker position at Phillips-Medisize involves leading the construction of complex new mold builds and overseeing all aspects of the mold manufacturing process. This role is critical in supporting new manufacturing business and ensuring efficiency in timing and communication within the team.
Responsibilities
- Build molds to support new manufacturing business.
- Ensure efficiency of timing and communication.
- Assemble and disassemble all components required in the mold manufacturing process.
- Set up and operate tool room equipment, including manual and/or CNC.
- Provide necessary information to assist subcontracting services.
- Support other mold makers, apprentices, and engineers.
- Build, repair, and revise secondary tooling.
- Troubleshoot and assemble manifold systems.
- Maintain tools and tooling area in proper working and safe condition.
- Perform minor maintenance on machines in the tool room.
Requirements
- Associate/Technical degree in machine tooling or similar discipline OR at least two (2) or more years of experience in maintenance, injection molding or operations.
- Knowledge of part and component drawings.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with plastic injection molds.
- Completed Apprenticeship program in a relatable field.
- At least (5) or more years at a journeyman level.
