About the position
As a Tool Maker / Builder at D M Tool & Fab Inc, you will be responsible for building precision tooling and fixtures specifically for the Aerospace and Defense industries. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a well-tenured staff in a clean facility, with plenty of hours available on day-shift. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products to customers.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and repair precision tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges
- Operate and maintain various machinery such as lathes & milling machines
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Use computer-aided drawings to create tooling components
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop innovative solutions
- Assist with quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications
- Troubleshoot issues with tools and machinery to identify and resolve problems
Requirements
- Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques using lathes & milling machines
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Solid understanding of tooling principles and practices
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with tools and machinery
