About the position

The Tool Room Clerk position is a vital role within the OSC Hangar Maintenance department, responsible for managing the inventory and exchange of tools and equipment. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can accurately complete documentation and verify the condition and specifications of tools. The Tool Room Clerk will handle incoming and outgoing tooling exchanges, ensuring that all transactions are recorded in accordance with established procedures. This includes verifying part numbers, serial numbers, descriptions, quantities, and conditions of tools, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records. In addition to managing tool exchanges, the Tool Room Clerk will be responsible for the organization and cleanliness of all tool rooms and storage areas. This includes implementing a barcode system to ensure inventory balances remain accurate. The role also involves receiving items returned from calibration and processing them accordingly. The Tool Room Clerk will load and unload tooling shipments, accounting for all items in transit. Knowledge of common warehouse practices and operations, such as using forklifts and pallet jacks, is essential for this position. The Tool Room Clerk will report directly to the OSC Tooling Administrator and may be assigned additional duties or projects as needed. This position requires a high school diploma, with some college or technical school experience preferred. An A&P license is desirable, along with knowledge of ITEL, AMM, and SRM implementation. Strong language skills are necessary to communicate effectively with co-workers and to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Accomplish incoming and outgoing tooling exchanges, accurately complete Kalitta Air documents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Verify part numbers, serial numbers, descriptions, quantities, and conditions of incoming and outgoing tools.
  • Inventory any new calibrated tools or test equipment items to the program as they are acquired or retired.
  • Receive items when they are returned from calibration and process accordingly.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing tooling shipments and account for same.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of all tool rooms and storage areas.
  • Ensure inventory balances remain accurate for all tools and implement a barcode system.
  • Make accurate data entries in accordance with established procedures using current computer systems.
  • Utilize common warehouse practices and warehouse tool operations, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Perform additional duties or projects as assigned by the OSC Tooling Administrator.

Requirements

  • High school graduate; some college or technical school preferred.
  • A&P license desirable.
  • Knowledge of ITEL, AMM, and SRM implementation is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand spoken and written English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to give verbal and written direction to co-staff.
