About the position

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Python Fullstack Developer for a long-term project that is 100% remote. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development, specifically in full stack web development. The role requires proficiency in Python, particularly with AWS Lambda for backend development, and strong experience in designing and developing APIs. Candidates should also have hands-on experience with React.js and related libraries/tools such as Redux and Hooks for frontend development. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing serverless applications and APIs using Python with AWS Lambda and React. They will ensure high performance, scalability, and security of the APIs developed. The role also involves utilizing AWS API Gateway to effectively integrate and manage APIs, implementing serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, and applying a strong understanding of security principles, protocols, and standards such as OWASP, TLS/SSL, and encryption. In addition to technical skills, the candidate must demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. They will lead technical discussions, provide guidance to junior developers on best practices and code quality, and participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards. Familiarity with modern web technologies, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and version control systems is essential. The candidate should also have knowledge of Python frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI, and familiarity with AWS services like API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3. Experience with security testing tools and compliance frameworks is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop serverless applications and APIs using Python with AWS Lambda and React.
  • Ensure high performance, scalability, and security of APIs developed.
  • Utilize AWS API Gateway to integrate and manage APIs effectively.
  • Implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda extensively.
  • Apply strong understanding of security principles, protocols, and standards (e.g., OWASP, TLS/SSL, encryption).
  • Lead technical discussions and provide guidance to junior developers on best practices and code quality.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, scalability, and performance requirements.
  • Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and other software issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development, focusing on full stack web development.
  • Proficiency in Python, particularly with AWS Lambda for backend development.
  • Strong experience in designing and developing APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with React.js and related libraries/tools (Redux, Hooks) for frontend development.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON/XML, and web services integration.
  • Strong experience with database design and optimization (SQL Server/PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6+, and responsive design principles.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Python frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
