The Food Service Representative at H-E-B is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a well-stocked and organized food service department. This part-time role involves preparing, packaging, and merchandising fresh products daily, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to customers in person and over the phone.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products effectively.
• Slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for quality control.
• Assist in technical areas as needed, including basic set-up and clean-up processes.
• Utilize suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and boost sales.
• Clean and sanitize display cases and maintain equipment according to food safety standards.
• Record production and shrink to aid in production planning (specific to Bakery).
• Take care of service counter customers and manage catering orders (specific to Deli).
• Educate customers on preparation and reheating instructions for prepared foods (specific to Prepared Foods).

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Company Orientation and food safety training upon hire.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (e.g., PC, scales, label machine).
• Planning and organizing skills.
