About the position

The Total Rewards Director at Moffatt & Nichol is responsible for leading the development and management of employee benefits, compensation structures, and HR systems. This role serves as a consultant to the CHRO and executive team, ensuring competitive and compliant compensation and benefits programs that align with the company's goals. The director will oversee employee benefits contracts, design compensation programs, and ensure compliance with US and international regulations while fostering partnerships with brokers and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of US and International economic conditions, labor markets, and other factors related to ensuring competitive benefits and compensation scales.
  • Oversee employee benefits contracts and programs including plan design, administration, enrollment, education, compliance, reporting, and filings.
  • Design, develop and implement compensation programs, policies, and procedures to respond to the company's goals and competitive practices.
  • Participate in and manage salary/benefit surveys to ensure compensation objectives are achieved.
  • Support HR team members and business leadership in job evaluation, offer pricing, and review of internal pay equity.
  • Keep apprised of US and International laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
  • Facilitate accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
  • Complete records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, local and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Conduct employee surveys, census, and other research and demographic efforts required to collect accurate quotes from benefit providers.
  • Establish procedures to ensure all employees are assisted appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the design, administration and implementation of HR systems.
  • Promote efficient and automated workflows to provide users with appropriate data access and to maximize data integrity.
  • Availability and willingness to travel to other office locations, ~10%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • 15 or more years of progressively more responsible Human Resources experience, including 5 years in employee benefit design and management, 5 years in compensation design and program administration, and 5 years in HR System administration.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a firm that provides engineering/science infrastructure design services.
  • Professional certification as a Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Senior level knowledge in HR competencies such as Benefits Administration, Compensation, Business Acumen, Communication, Consultation, Compliance, Critical Evaluation, Ethical Practice, Global & Cultural Awareness, HR Expertise, and Relationship Management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Human Resources or other related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
