About the position

The Total Wellness Supervisor at the Oklahoma City-County Health Department (OCCHD) is responsible for overseeing the Total Wellness staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of diabetic and chronic disease prevention and education programs. This leadership role emphasizes policy development, community partnership, and health equity, ensuring that the department's mission and strategic goals are met while adapting to evolving responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Total Wellness staff in program development and implementation.
  • Schedule work assignments and monitor employee performance.
  • Generate performance evaluations and maintain supervisory documentation.
  • Review timesheets and ensure proper completion before approval.
  • Document overtime and ensure compliance with operational guidelines.
  • Complete incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate community presentations and attend meetings as directed.
  • Oversee implementation of outreach classes in the community.
  • Provide input on program modifications and enhancements.
  • Facilitate community planning processes and health improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with community groups and organizations to promote health initiatives.
  • Generate documents and reports as needed.
  • Drive to off-site locations to perform job duties.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Sociology, Psychology, Community Health, or related field with four years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with five years of related experience.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of public health promotion principles, practices, and trends.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver license required.
  • Certified in CPR within 90 days of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in public health education and outreach.
  • Familiarity with community health initiatives and partnerships.
