About the position

Join the Sensing Systems team at Apple, where we design, develop, and launch next-generation Sensing Technologies that integrate MEMS, magnetic, and capacitive sensors across a variety of Apple products, including iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks. Our mission is to bring devices to life and enable them to interact with users and the environment in innovative ways. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to contribute to the Touch ID team, which focuses on developing sensors that are central to the security and convenience of Apple products. In this role, you will be responsible for developing sensors that provide fingerprint biometrics for Apple's products. Your tasks will include schematic capture, module and flex design, leading multi-functional integration discussions, conducting coexistence assessments, and validating the module design and features at all nodes of the supply chain. A strong understanding of both analog and digital circuit design, as well as flexible and rigid PCB design, is essential. You will also need to evaluate signal integrity and power integrity, perform lab validation, and conduct electrical failure analysis. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in taking electrical designs into mass production and will collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop, characterize, validate, and integrate Touch ID sensors into Apple products. Experience with high-volume mass production is a plus. This position may require up to 10% travel, allowing you to engage with teams and projects across different locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sensors for fingerprint biometrics in Apple products.
  • Conduct schematic capture and module design.
  • Lead multi-functional integration discussions and coexistence assessments.
  • Validate module design and features across the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop and characterize Touch ID sensors.
