About the position

The Tourism Manager at Chickasaw Nation is responsible for promoting Chickasaw Country as a premier tourism destination. This role involves developing strategic relationships within the tourism industry, targeting both domestic and international markets, and generating business through partnerships that promote leisure travel. The manager will oversee various operational aspects, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the tourism initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains files, logs, and records
  • Ensures employees and resources complete assigned training and development
  • Maintains knowledge of and enforces all laws, rules, regulations, policies, and SOPs for assigned area
  • Plans staff to meet operational needs
  • Develops, communicates, monitors location- or function-specific procedures and guidelines
  • Monitors and improves work performance of assigned teams
  • Oversees and manages assigned area
  • Meets operational goals by establishing productivity, quality, and service standards
  • Resolves operational problems and identifies work process improvements
  • Serves as a member of the leadership team, providing input on overall strategic direction
  • Ensures all outcomes and deliverables meet organizational goals and quality standards
  • Prepares weekly reports
  • Attends domestic consumer shows throughout the year
  • Handles all requests and necessary follow-up to consumer shows
  • Assists with familiarization tours as needed
  • Researches and adds new attractions, events, tourism locations, and businesses to the website
  • Photographs, edits, and adds tourism businesses and locations to the photography database
  • Updates and maintains content on the website and other online platforms
  • Maintains tourism collateral and delivers to partners as requested
  • Maintains monthly communication with community stakeholders and tourism locations
  • Travels to tourism locations and businesses on a bi-annual basis
  • Prepares ad hoc reports
  • Directs events staff to provide necessary support for events
  • Ensures accuracy of Contact Us correspondence on the website
  • Participates in local hospitality functions and events as requested
  • Develops marketing collateral and communication tools
  • Edits marketing materials according to specific market requirements
  • Creates and edits a variety of marketing content to promote services offered in Training & Career Development
  • Monitors systems to ensure data accuracy and timely processing of information
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3 years directly related management experience
  • 5 years directly related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business
  • Standard Driver's License
  • Participation in Fast Track Leadership Training program
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
