About the position

The Towed System Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the submarine fleet by ensuring the effective operation of towed arrays and handling systems. This position involves program and project management, requiring careful analysis and communication to keep projects on track and aligned with corporate strategy. The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders, manage project cost accounting, and utilize tools like MS Project to facilitate tactical planning. The role emphasizes the importance of communication in achieving program goals and maintaining quality standards, contributing to a meaningful mission.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain organizational programs in support of corporate strategy.
• Review contracts and project cost accounting with key stakeholders.
• Assist with tactical planning using resources like MS Project.
• Engage in regular interactions with SMEs, schedulers, customers, or project analysts.
• Ensure effective communication to achieve program goals and meet quality standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in towed array operations and employment.
• Experience with submarine sonar as a towed array operator.
• Experience using MS Teams.
• Knowledge of submarine towed systems and operations, including mechanical or operational limitations for all classes of submarines.
• Knowledge of ARCI SONAR computer systems and SONAR integrated software application programs as it applies to towed array power and processing.
• Ability to work well in an agile and collaborative work environment.
• Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a qualified towed array handling system operator.
• Experience as a qualified towed array workstation operator.
• Experience as a qualified sonar supervisor, including as a towed array handling system supervisor.
• Experience with onload or offload of towed arrays on any platform.
• Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills.
