About the position

The Hotel/Tower Shop Facilities Engineer at The Cosmopolitan is a vital role responsible for the maintenance and improvement of hotel rooms and tower corridors. This position involves a variety of tasks including the repair and maintenance of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC controls, and all aspects of guest room functionality. The engineer will ensure that lighting is compatible and operational, door hardware is functional, and that all caulked surfaces and fixtures are in good condition. Additionally, the role includes maintaining guestroom door locks, handrail assemblies, glass railings, toilets, and plumbing systems, as well as terrace deck and furniture repair. Safety concerns are a priority, and the engineer will address any issues that arise. The position also requires performing paint touch-ups and assisting with guestroom safe calls. The engineer will utilize tools such as snakes and jetters to remove clogs in the building's drain system. On a day-to-day basis, the Facilities Engineer will maintain and repair all equipment related to the successful operation of hotel rooms and tower corridors. This includes plumbing, window and door fixtures, electrical systems, and air conditioning units. The engineer will complete work orders and walk daily routes to identify and make necessary repairs. This role requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all equipment related to hotel rooms and tower corridors.
  • Perform repairs on plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC controls.
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Walk daily routes to identify and make necessary repairs.
  • Address safety concerns and perform paint touch-ups as needed.
  • Assist with guestroom safe calls and ensure functionality of guestroom locks and fixtures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education experience.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Experience working in a similar resort setting is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing systems, including snaking and jetters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with guests and coworkers.
